Workshop Description

The purpose of the Communication Skills workshop is to improve your ability to communicate in person, virtually, over the phone, and via email.  The ability to use all four of these modes of communication is critically important. This interactive 2-hour workshop highlights practical concepts and guidelines, including a discussion on how to select the best communication method for different customers and situations.

Depending on what works best for you, the workshop can be taught in-person or virtually. Peak Selling will also customize the content at no additional cost to include examples that are relevant to your company and industry. 

Who Should Attend?

Because communication skills are so fundamental and important, any employee can benefit from this workshop.  The Communication Skills workshop is especially valuable for anyone who communicates externally with customers, such as technical support and customer service personnel.   

Workshop Topics and Objectives

1. Analyzing your Audience and Setting Clear Objectives: You will learn a simple and effective way to set clear, appropriate objectives based on the person/audience to whom you will communicate.  The best communicators plan in advance their desired goals and outcomes, after which they then plan what to say in their main message.

2. Selecting the Best Communication Mode:  We discuss pros and cons of using the four different modes of communication. A brainstorm activity will be used in small groups to generate suggestions on how to maximize your effectiveness for each mode. Each person will receive a Planning Form that reinforces the concepts from these first two topics.

3. Communicating with Difficult People: Learn various tips and techniques for dealing with difficult people and situations such as customer objections, demanding colleagues, and other challenging situations such as low reactors.
